Investment projects in Kazakhstan

The Baiterek project is a joint initiative between Kazakhstan and Russia aimed at modernizing the existing Zenit-M launch pad at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The goal is to convert it into a modern, environmentally friendly space launch facility for the new Soyuz-5 (also known as “Irtysh”) medium-class launch vehicles.

Canadian Chicken Ltd. is undertaking a multi-phase project to construct a modern facility for the production and processing of poultry meat in the Kostanai Region of Kazakhstan. The plant will have an annual capacity of 50,000 tons of poultry meat and is expected to create over 500 jobs.

The Kazakhstan Meat Cluster Initiative is a large-scale agricultural project aimed at developing a comprehensive beef production and export infrastructure. The project involves the establishment of feedlots and partnerships with over 600 existing farms across Kazakhstan. The initiative seeks to enhance beef production capabilities, improve meat quality standards, and expand export opportunities, particularly to the Chinese market.

The Aidarly Copper–Molybdenum Mining and Processing Complex is a large greenfield mining project at the Aidarly deposit in the Ayagoz District of Kazakhstan’s Abay Region. The project combines an open-pit mine with a concentrator designed to process up to 75 million tonnes of ore per year.

This project involves the construction of a mining and metallurgical plant in the Korday district of Zhambyl region, Kazakhstan. Monterra Qasaqstan LLP, a subsidiary of Germany-based Monterra Group AG, is spearheading the initiative. The facility is designed to produce up to 10 metric tons of gold per year in doré alloy, sourced from the Karatas–Maybulak deposit.

The Trans-Caspian Fiber Optic Cable Project is a strategic infrastructure initiative aimed at constructing a 380 km submarine fiber-optic cable line across the Caspian Sea, connecting Sumgait in Azerbaijan to Aktau in Kazakhstan.

The project involves the design and construction of a modern wastewater treatment plant in Taraz, Kazakhstan, with a treatment capacity of 80,000 m³ per day. The initiative aims to replace outdated filtration lagoons, thereby improving wastewater treatment and sludge management in line with national and EU standards.

The project is a large-scale Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facility planned in Almaty, Kazakhstan, designed to convert municipal solid waste into electrical energy through thermal treatment. The plant is expected to process up to 2,000 tons of waste per day, significantly reducing landfill dependency in the city. It will generate approximately 60 MW of electricity, which is intended to be integrated into the local power grid.

The project aims to enhance the efficiency and reach of JSC "AgromashHolding KZ" by expanding and modernizing its network of service centers across Kazakhstan. This includes upgrading existing facilities, establishing new branches in key grain-producing regions, and improving technical equipment and infrastructure to provide prompt and effective services to farmers.
