Investment projects in Kazakhstan

In July 2024, it was announced that the Kazakhstani company ABS-Munay and West Hydrocarbons Commercial Investment LLC from the UAE planned to construct a new oil refinery in Kazakhstan. The planned refinery will be located in the village of Algabas, Terekti district, West Kazakhstan region.

Alsera KZ LLP signed an Investment Agreement with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the implementation of the project for construction of a greenhouse complex in Shymkent. Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov acted as a signatory on behalf of the Government. The project will be implemented with the support of JSC “NC ‘KAZAKH INVEST’.

The project involves the construction of a 75 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant at the Zhezkazgan Combined Heat and Power (CHP) station. This initiative aims to enhance the region's energy infrastructure by providing additional electricity generation capacity, improving energy efficiency, and reducing environmental impact through the use of natural gas as fuel.

The Stepnoy Leopard Fields, officially known as the Kamensko-Teplovsko-Tokarevskoe area, comprise eight hydrocarbon fields in the West Kazakhstan Region. Discovered during the Soviet era, these fields have remained undeveloped due to a lack of infrastructure.

Mareven Food Tian Shan, a Vietnamese-Japanese joint venture, has initiated a significanft project to establish a beverage production and bottling facility in Kazakhstan's Almaty region. This initiative is part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the National Company "KAZAKH INVEST" on July 22, 2024.

The Khromtau 2 Wind Power Plant is an onshore wind energy project located near Khromtau in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan. 25 MW. The turbines have a hub height of 105 meters and a rotor diameter of 171 meters.

The "Confectionery Capital" project involves the construction of a modern production complex by JSC "Bayan Sulu" in Kostanay, Kazakhstan. The facility is designed to increase the company's manufacturing capacity by 13,000 tons annually, focusing on energy efficiency, automation, and compliance with halal standards.

The project entails the development of the Shalkiya polymetallic ore deposit, one of the world's largest lead-zinc deposits, located in the Zhanakorgan District of the Kyzylorda Region. The initiative includes the construction of an underground mine and a processing plant with an annual capacity of 4 million tonnes of ore.

The project entails the development of a marine aquaculture facility for farming sea trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) with an annual production capacity of 5,000 tonnes. The farming operations will utilize cage systems in the Caspian Sea, covering an area of 3,000 hectares, located approximately 20 km from the Port of Kuryk in the Mangistau region.
