Investment projects in Kazakhstan

The Almaty Mountain Cluster is a major infrastructure and tourism development initiative aimed at transforming the mountainous regions near Almaty into a year‑round international destination.

The Data Center Valley project is a strategic national digital infrastructure initiative planned in Ekibastuz, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. The project is intended to create the largest data center campus in Central Asia and position Kazakhstan as a regional hub for sovereign artificial intelligence, cloud services, high-performance computing and advanced digital infrastructure.

Aviation stakeholders SCAT Airlines and Boeing have initiated construction of what is projected to become Central Asia’s largest aircraft maintenance and overhaul facility in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The full‑cycle MRO complex is designed to service Boeing aircraft families including 737 Classic/NG/MAX, 757, 767 and potentially wide‑body 777 aircraft.

The Zhaik Petroleum Gas Chemical Complex is an industrial project focused on the production of methanol from natural gas in Western Kazakhstan. The plant is designed with an annual production capacity of approximately 130,000 tons of methanol, positioning it as the first large-scale methanol production facility in the country.

The project involves the construction of a large integrated ammonia–urea and nitrogen fertilizer complex in Aktau, Mangystau Region, Kazakhstan. It is officially positioned as the first urea production plant in Kazakhstan, as urea is currently not produced domestically and is imported from neighbouring countries.

The project involves the construction of two small hydropower plants — Rudnichny HPP-1 and Rudnichny HPP-2 — in the Kerbulak district of the Zhetisu Region, Republic of Kazakhstan. The total installed capacity of the cascade is 42 MW, including 19 MW for HPP-1 and 23 MW for HPP-2. 3 million kWh.

The Sarykum project involves the development of an anthracite coal deposit in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, near Lake Balkhash. The project aims to exploit high-quality anthracite, which is rare in Kazakhstan, suitable for use in metallurgical processes, electrodes, absorbents, and electrocorrundum production. Lower-grade coal will supply local residential and municipal energy needs.

The Drozhilovskoye project is a large-scale mining development focused on the extraction of tungsten and molybdenum ores, with associated beryllium mineralization. The deposit is located in northern Kazakhstan and is considered one of the notable tungsten resources in the region. The project is being developed by QazMoly Limited, a company associated with the mining investment group connected to the Assaubayev family.

The Beyneu – Saksaulsky highway is a major road infrastructure project planned in western Kazakhstan as part of the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor). The project aims to construct a new strategic highway connecting the Beyneu area in the Mangystau region with the Saksaulsky area in the Kyzylorda region.
